My work is about capturing the aura of a city, the zeitgeist. I have been conducting studies into London's energy and the way that sounds that are reminiscent of a certain place filter through into music (West Coast Hip-Hop in Los Angeles/East Coast Hip-Hop in New York, Grime/Dubstep/Drum n Bass in London). My work also deals with the interpretation of sexual/hedonistic imagery and unconscious desires. I want to create the feeling of flying around London at night with X-ray vision or the effect of being a passenger in a car looking out the window. Similar to the way that a soundtrack accompanies a film to create emotion/depth etc, I want to create static visuals to accompany a soundtrack that appear to capture a place in time but are fiercely rhythmic and alive.
