Mariwan Karim
The beginning of my work goes back to the time when I was a student in the institution of Fine Arts In 1984-1989. I studied art and basic art, and my study involved both theory and practice. My academic background has enhanced my art works and enabled me to find a style, which is characteristic of my work.
Most of my works are based on Kurdish mythology and traditional stories from my culture. Nature is a great source for my use of colours.
I have been working in Art for more than 20 years as a way to express my feelings and what I love most in life. My childhood experience and my wonder of new worlds have all enriched my aesthetic work.
I always like to bring novelty to my work and to try different styles of work. Beside my painting experience, I have also got a good ceramic background and I enjoy them both as my artistic achievement.
