ARTIST INFORMATION
Errol Prince
I was born in the mid 1950’s on the island of Jamaica. At present I am working on a series of paintings based on my recollections of the Jamaican landscape.
My painting is something that has developed over twenty or more years of experimenting with different colours and memories of the local countryside and the surrounding area where I was brought up. By using my early realistic vision of the natural colours my work has developed from strength to strength. This has enabled me to produce the kind of art that I present here.
As a self taught painter, all of my art has given me an autobiographical reference point, which has now fully captured the narrative and exploration of my love of painting from the memories of my early years growing up in Jamaica.
Looking back at my art over the years I can see that the development of my painting has been fairly constant. I work entirely by instinct, painting my emotions, imagination and thoughts on canvas .
