I was born to parents who came to England as refugees. This has influenced my work as much as it has influenced me. I explore in my work aspects of intransigence, absence and presence.
I have exhibited widely both in Britain and abroad. My work is in both private and public collections. I teach on a part-time basis.
I work both in oil and watercolour. My work varies from tiny to very large. I take my subject matter from my daily life, allowing chinks of observation to percolate in my mind’s eye, sometimes for several months, before painting it. I work from memory and direct observation.
My work is in both national and private collections. I exhibit here and abroad. Looking and seeing is woven into my very fabric of being.
