Exhibitions and Print
A Positive View
Between April/May 2010 my work appeared in the Positive View Exhibition at Somerset House. This was an exhibition to raise funds for the charity Crisis and Prince William was the patron. The work was in an exhibition that included photographers like Richard Avedon, Don Mccullin and Helmut Newton. The work was also printed in a book and ended with the work being auctioned of at Christies in London. My piece raised the most funds in its group.
Ten Feet Away International arts festival
In 2007 I was involved in the organisation of the 3rd Ten feet Away International Arts festival. As well as doing a project for the festival overseas in St. Petersburg and running a photography work shop at the festival I also took part a number of exhibitions for the festival. The first was a lead up showing work inside City hall London The second was a couple of exhibitions at the festival in St. Johns Waterloo. One of the exhibitions was showing previous work while the central piece was tailor made for the festival with work I had done in St. Petersburg. My work was also printed in a magazine in Russia called Podmoi.
End of year exhibition 2004
At the end of my HND in Photography we got to have an exhibition at a gallery in Tottenham Court Road. I decided to mine on something I knew a lot about, Head Injury. I spent a month very closely working with people at Headway East London, a support centre for people who have had a head injury. I did the project in a similar style to late 19th century photography mainly using a 5x4 camera. I also did all my own processing and went back 6 months later to complete a follow up project.
In addition I have had work displayed in the offices of the deputy prime minister, the Hackney Empire, The Royal Albert Hall, The Spitz Gallery and the Brick Hse. On Brick Lane. Have had work printed in Numerous documents for the charities I have worked for and had a centre spread in the Financial Times.
Photographic Employment
July 2010 – February 2011
I worked with Capture NorthEast both doing photography for them and helping in the development of the company. The work I did for them included photographing events, shopping centre photography and family studio work. I also held meetings with potential clients and helped design their marketing materials.
During this time I also developed a photography course covering how a camera works and how to use it, Composition, post processing and studio photography. This was a popular course I delivered at Crisis Skylight Newcastle.
