Layered 2 is from a series of works, which looked at experimenting with paper, paint and stitch. I firstly experimented by painting various effects onto paper, making assorted textures. I ripped the textures up and then reassembled the papers back together by layering them up. I then used the sewing machine as a way of attaching the pieces together this gave the work a very spontaneous and organic feel. The work is mounted on a white A2 off white card and then framed in a black aluminium frame. Dimension of artwork 32x41cm framed 59.4x42cm

The focus of my ideas comes from my surroundings. I use photography to capture moments in time, by using nature, architecture and everyday happenings to inspire me. I use the information from my photography to develop ideas through the use of computer manipulation, changing the original images’ size, colour and abstracting the image by using techniques which will enhance the end result, making the image bold and graphic.
