I think that studying art and music in various institutions in India sorted out my rigid inhibitions towards painting and music. The two art forms fused along the way and my approach to creating an image contained a greater sense of rhythm. I have found that by following the thread of an idea, (or usually just a spark of a composition), other subjects, or a broader color palette feed into the work. Usually the end result has its own pictorial logic. Recently I have had a fascination with invertebrates, and they crop-up in a lot of my work. These spineless little creatures come in the most amazing array of shapes. They are structured yet free to mould themselves into a new environment. That’s what makes them prime subjects for my new work.
