Instructions For modern living is a series of 6 paintings that reflect various stages of a relationship that I was in. It documents the fading relationship, my wishes of support and certainty are inked (in the form of the diagram - adapted from an old St John’s Ambulance book) above the chaos of emotions that lie beneath and before.
OLMEDO is the surname of my partner at the time, which explains this recurring across the bottom of the collage on each panel.

John lee bird lives in London. He once lived in Ipswich (in Suffolk) where he went to school, played with his cousins and liked to buy rabbits to afford him some time with his father whilst making the hutches.
