Playground is taken from my childhood memories of being at school. I looked at items that I kept from my childhood, such as exercise books, toys and objects. I made the items into a still life and made collages. The next process was to then take these ideas, into textiles and samples onto fabric. I pieced the fabrics together like in my collages and used the sewing machine as a drawing tool, drawing with the stitch in an expressive way. The work is mounted on an A2 off white card and then framed in a black aluminium frame. Dimension of artwork 42 x 33cm framed 59.4x42cm

The focus of my ideas comes from my surroundings. I use photography to capture moments in time, by using nature, architecture and everyday happenings to inspire me. I use the information from my photography to develop ideas through the use of computer manipulation, changing the original images’ size, colour and abstracting the image by using techniques which will enhance the end result, making the image bold and graphic.
