Tears of a Peacock is one of a series of pieces transforming the organic into the everyday.In this piece I’ve merged a haughty looking 1920’s flapper with that of an equally haughty looking peacock. As eyes are associated with tears I’ve shown both the peacock’s eyes and the lady’s eyes crying, while the tears themselves transform into jewels. The bold colours I’ve used are taken from the psychedelic posters of the 60’s to get across the otherworldliness of the scene

I was born in 1982 and grew up in Richmond, Surrey . At the age of 5, I had decided my future career as an illustrator. One of my early memorable pictures was a none too flattering observation of my Dads greenhouse!
